  About Memory-Link

Caregivers...like you
Memory-Link is based in Toronto, Canada. The founder, Lorie Pierce, has both a personal and a professional connection to Alzheimer's.

Lorie's professional connection with Alzheimer's Disease was as a former administrator of Seniors Programs for the Canadian Red Cross Society and Meals on Wheels agencies. Although skilled as a behavioural therapist to chronic pain patients, she felt ill-prepared for the challenges that faced her family as her mother's six-year journey with Alzheimer's progressed. Like so many people, Lorie did not plan to become a Caregiver to a parent with Dementia. It was a journey of discovery.

"We were a very hands-on family, even when Mom eventually went to live in a care facility. Although Mom received excellent care, our family tried to find as many ways to help with her care and to keep our connection with her—even as her ability to communicate was becoming more and more difficult for all of us." — Lorie Pierce, founder, Memory-Link

It is out of this experience that Memory-Link was born. Although her Mom has now passed on, there are others in Lorie's family who are dealing with Alzheimer's Disease and the journey continues. Memory-Link products are designed for all people struggling to improve the quality of life for loved-ones with Alzheimer's.

Lorie is also a Heritage Educator in the Senior's Outreach Program of the Peel Heritage Complex in Brampton Ontario. In this role, she is a facilitator of reminiscence programs using museum artifacts in 30 retirement residences, long term care facilities and adult day centres within the Region of Peel, northwest of Toronto.
